the 1993 MY bronco. I mean, that’s not much to shout about for a fuel injected 5.0 V8 in 1993.
93 was the year the 80 series got the 1fz DOHC 4.5 liter I6 with 212 hp and 275 lbs-ft .
Even the 5.8 had less HP, though more torque.
I realized these were never rockets, but thats...slow.

People are quick to forget that early 90’s American cars still had engines tuned by people who tuned the engines for 1971

Sometimes I do forget. I remember the 5.7 of that era in the chevy having something like 190 hp and 310 lbs-ft. I also remember owning a 4.0 HO cherokee around that time with 190 hp thinking “really GM?”

It’s not dissimilar tuning to modern turbo engines. Put ALL the torque down low and nobody gives a shit abouts the hp

I see credits to YouTube uploaders... I guess that means they’re not pulling these old ads from some official Ford archive , then.

I had no intention of watching this, but jacking one corner of my shed back up from the swamp didn’t take as long as expected (was as sketchy as anticipated though) so here I am, I guess I can hang around for a little and see if it’s what everyone hopes for or yet another new-car letdown.

Took me quite a while of saying “wow that’s embarrassing” before I realized the stream you linked to is some dealer’s bootleg haha

that 2dr especially looks pretty darn cool... the 2.7 turbo even sounds pretty good
